The performance is based on the children book “Wacky stories with the Letters from A to Z” by Tsveta Brestnichka.

The performance is nominated by Union of Bulgarian Actors for “Ikar” 2025 award for puppets and scenography by Iva Gikova and Ivaylo Nikolov and for original music by Plamen Petkov.

Tsveta Brestnichka is one of the most famous and loved Bulgarian authors for children. She is a writer of numerous great books for kids, but maybe her most famous one is “Wacky stories with the letters from A to Z”. In this book the author tells a story with each letter from the bulgarian alphabet and thus she creates thirty stories in which the words begin with the chosen letter. Their stories are funny, intriguing and cunning.

Since we were very inspired by the book, we decided that it must become a theatrical play. We chose five stories for our performance from all the great stories in the book. In our play we tell about the magic of the letters. What is it like to be a letter? Is it easy or is it hard? Are the letters going to be sad if we write them ugly and crushed or if we mistake their places?
